Though a transplant to the Boise area, after twenty-seven years, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. I absolutely love living in the western Idaho area and enjoying all the wonderful things it has to offer with my husband of twenty-seven years, my three daughters, and our black lab, Tyler.
When my girls were little, I was THAT mom: the one running all over the place taking a hundred pictures in hopes that one or two would truly capture the moment I often missed due to my frazzled approach to get that perfect shot. After too many disappointing results, I decided to really learn how to take fabulous pictures. Seventeen years later, I can confidently proclaim myself a self-taught photographer, specializing in natural-light photography.
My three little girls aren’t so little anymore, but it’s with pride and deep gratitude that I flip through the pages of their lives and revisit so many turning points. Though they’ve grown up too fast, I’m surrounded by the amazing memories of how they’ve become the delightful young women they are today.
Because of how fulfilling the results of my journey have been, I’ve turned my hobby into the chance to give other people the same gift of memories—not only through the pictures I personally take, but also through workshops, where I teach what I spent years and years figuring out. Great photography doesn’t take fancy equipment or college degrees—just passion and a willingness to invest in yourself and in the memories you’ll be preserving for generations to come.
In addition to working with photography, I love to curl up with a mug of hot lemon water and a good book. I have an eye for decorating and am just a little obsessive about having a clean and organized home. I absolutely love being a mom and a wife; nothing beats family time . . . so long as there’s still time for my morning workout and an occasional pedicure.
I believe in dreams, and I love being able to look back on my life and see so many of mine realized. I hope that whatever your dreams might be, you are taking steps toward realizing them too.
Life is good!
