Is it all about Luck?
I have clients tell me all the time, “You are so Lucky”. I am quick with my reply, “Oh, you have not heard my story have you?” I share aglimpse into my story that has changed my life, but has also brought me to live my passion and has given me a voice where I can be a blessing to so many.
Luck has nothing to do with passion. Passion is a driving force that is deep within, it is something that bears fruit a little at a time. Passion is never given, it must be worked for, you have to dig deep to prove that you want it like the very breath you breath. I could never have been blessed to have such a passion for photography without the help of God. Living a life on my own terms and dreams of what I wanted to accomplish is far less a blessing than receiving what God has in store for me. Every day proves this to be true. I am most humbled and grateful!
February this year, Mike and I made a decision That I would stop doing photography as a hobby and step into being a full time business. This came with much hesitation and many doubts that I could do this at all. I shed many tears because I was sure that I just wasn’t ready, or skilled enough and wondered if I would find a clientele that would pay my prices. There were so many fears and to top it off, Mike and I had agreed that we would run our business debt free. What a scary time it was for me and I know for Mike as well, but he does a great job being such a great support to me and keeping me focused when I think things are just not going to come together.
Vision and Dreaming with God
Making a decision such as this, demands that you have someone in your court to bring to light the vision that you have so longed for. Turning our hearts and humbling ourselves to ask God for helphas been such an amazing driving force and the vision that has come together because of him, has been nothing short of a miracle.
What is stopping you?
What is stopping you from living your passion? It may or may not be photography. Whatever it is, are you asking God to bring it to light and plant it in your heart so you can make a difference and be a blessing to others?
What I have come to know
I know that we are truly blessed. And being blessed, we must be a blessing to others. I encourage you to find your passion. Ask God what he has in store for you and continue to ask him. He teaches in ways that are specific to your needs and he wants you to be blessed so that you can be a blessing to others.
What does this have to do with photography?
Everything! And it has to do with whatever you want to do. I have been so blessed in such a small window of time, and I want to share with you that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Go ahead, ask God and make a decision. He will show you the way.
Life is great!
