New web platform launched with VueBuilder today
Looking back and knowing what I know now, I am kicking myself that I haven't made this move earlier. I have to tell you that I am not the quickest when it comes to all of this techy stuff, and quite frankly, it scares the ba-jeebers out of me (is that even a word?), and it is most definately something I just don't understand. But being in the photography industry, I needed something that I could be comfortable with, like my favorite pair of jeans. You know what I am talking about, those pair of jeans you can wear several times, they keep their shape, fit you perfectly and when you wash them, there are no surprises, you know what I'm talking about, right? Well, I was in need of those comfy jeans sort of thing when it came to my website. But, I just couldn't find that right fit, hadn't found it YET to be exact. I was so frustrated that I didn't understand the coding, the know how of maneuvering around to add content, post pictures, etc. in an invironment that was already over my head. Feeling this frustration, it was spilling over into my work, or lack of work because I spent much of my time trying to figure things out that I just didn't understand. This is why we hire people to do this kind of thing, right? Right. But I'm not so quick to make changes, especially when I finally get things to where I want them, and let me tell you, they didn't look great, but hey I was happy because I had figured out enough just to get by. Yes the dreaded "get by". Oh how sad of me to keep making the same mistakes... but yes, I must confess, I seem to do this by default.
There are many things I have learned by being a self taught photographer, and this is one of those hardest lessons I have had to learn. Learning from those who know, is the key here. I can't possibly know everything, but there are those whom we can turn to for help. These brave souls help us solve our problems, and in this case was a small problem that appeared to be a huge undertaking. It was simply just plain lack of knowledge on my part. So, with some serious pushing from my web designer, Steve, (I'm sure he was thinking, "can she get with it already?"), I was introduced to VueBuilder. Oh, how my heart sings! Remember, I am kinda slow at this kind of stuff and yes, I dug my heels in, wore my fingernails to the bone, OK not really, but hey it felt like it. I was thinking, "Why change a good thing when I'm just getting by?" Again, I am sure Steve was thinking I am a little off my rocker. After all, I am paying him to make me look professional, but I was the one keeping him from making the changes I have needed to for sometime now. After discussing this with Steve and with his never ending patience with me, I finally got a good feel for what this new platform will do for my business. It just made sense. I am sure you will agree with me how amazing it looks, but what you don't see is even better than I could have ever imagined on the back end. Logging in, feeling intimidated by past experiences and to my surprise, there was simply no training, it was just a click here, a drag there and post, Voila! Wow, I can do this!
I am here to tell you that VueBuilder is the perfect fit for my business... my life with Blogging and maneuvering through the back end of my website has never been easier!
I hope you plan to come back often, share your insights and grow with me on this journey of investing in yourself and preserving memories for generations. I love what I do.
