When I meet with clients for their in-home consultations, this is one thing we must cover, "What to Wear". It really is that important and you want your clothing to be well suited for your style and coordinate with each member of the family, but not be too matchy, matchy. Here are four examples to keep in mind when choosing your clothing options for a photo shoot.
- Choose one piece of clothing that includes the colors you want (such as the woman's blouse) . Plan everyones clothing around that piece. You will see in the image below that the grays and varying shades of pinks were built around to make for a stylish selection of all four outfits.
- Textures are a must! They bring a lot of dimension to your photos. Textures such as ruffles, big buttons, knits, etc. are great pieces to choose. Examples shown below in the little girls skirt and top and the boys belt.
- Stick with the seasons. The image below is a Spring/Summer clothing choice. Pastels for spring/summer and deeper colors for fall/winter.
- Be sure that your color pallet has at least three colors within your clothing choices. You can see that the variations of pinks grays and browns were used to combine with dark jeans.
